European Year of Volunteering
Opening up sports volunteering to the wider community

Coinciding with the European Year of Volunteering 2011 tour, during October and November a number of free events were held looking how best to recruit new volunteers into sports clubs.
Created by experts at organisations including runningsports, sportscoach UK, Sheffield Hallam University and The University of Sheffield it:
- highlighted the challenges that community sport faces in opening up to recruit new volunteers from outside of sport.
- showcased best-practice case studies to demonstrate where this has been successful.
- provided attendees with greater understanding and free resources to promote best practice in recruiting and inspiring those present to instigate this positive change.
If you missed out on the event, don't worry - below you can view a 10 minute video clip of the event and download the free toolkit.
