Are more sports going to make full use of the CASC scheme as a result of JustGiving?
The main benefit of CASC status for clubs up until now has been the ability to claim rate relief, which means the majority of CASCs are asset-owing clubs, for example, cricket clubs.
The ability to claim Gift Aid has been a secondary benefit, because it hasn't been very easy for clubs to make a Gift Aid claim - the process is time consuming and burdensome. JustGiving make claiming Gift Aid really easy, removing the administrative burden for clubs. As a result, we believe this partnership with JustGiving will open up the CASC scheme to many other sports clubs, for example, swimming and cycling clubs, because it's now so easy for them to claim Gift Aid. And when that's 28p on top of every £1, that's a significant benefit.
