Become a Tutor for runningsports

To apply to become a runningsports tutor you will need to fill out the Tutor Application Form in full with all supporting documentation and evidence of your skill set/s and then email the application form to: tutors@runningsports.org.

runningsports are able fund a total of 18 new tutors each financial year, and the successful applicants are chosen for their expertise in needed subject areas along with the geographical need for tutors in areas of the country at the time.

runningsports will accept or decline your application within 6 weeks of receipt, and the accepted applicants will be invited to an interview in due course.

The interview process

Your interview will last for approximately 45 minutes.

The interview will consist of questions and a 10-15 minute presentation. runningsports will provide you with a topic for your presentation, based on a learning outcome taken from the workshop of your preference.

runningsports are not expecting you to work from our tutor notes, and there are no right or wrong answers, you may not be able to cover the subject area fully in the time you have been given. The aim of the presentation is for runningsports to see your presentation skills in practice.

Training Programmes

Our 3-day training programmes for all potential tutors are held twice a year, and runningsports will liaise with all successful applicants regarding suitable dates for training.

Although runningsports will cover the cost for the initial 3-day training course, travel expenses and any overnight accommodation cannot be provided.

Once successfully assessed from this 3-day workshop, the potential tutor will need further co-facilitation/s and/or a final assessment with our qualified senior tutors before becoming a fully signed off active tutor. NB: potential tutors attending co-facilitation and final assessments are not paid travel expenses or an hourly rate until final sign off.

All runningsports workshops are 3 hours in duration and the current payment package for tutors is 3 X hours at £35ph. NB: Tutors do not receive payment for traveling time (unless in exceptional circumstances and agreed in advance).

All workshops are communicated and allocated using email, in an equitable manner to ensure all tutors remain active.
