Coaches are being given an opportunity to become involved in Talent 2016: Tall and Talented, a programme launched by UK Sport to find the next generation of Olympic medalists in basketball, rowing and other targeted sports.
UK Sport is looking for skilled and reliable volunteers to take part in their testing days, where 100-200 athletes will be put through their paces.
Coaches of all levels will be considered by UK Sport to participate in the tests and full training will be given in regards to the assessments that coaches are to carry out.
Assessment days are being held in January 2010 at the following venues:
- Saturday 9 January - Stirling
- Sunday 10 January - Bath
- Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 January - Loughborough
- Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 January - Gateshead
- Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 January - London
(Anyone volunteering for Gateshead and London will need to attend the Loughborough weekend as well as these will follow on from the Loughborough training session.)
