Women Ski Jumpers Struggle for 2010 Inclusion

Ski jumping is the only activity in the Olympic Winter Games that does not allow women to compete.

The International Working Group on Women and Sport (IWG) has been alerted by the Women’s Sports Foundation (WSF) and the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity (CAAWS) of the call to action in relation to the continuing struggle faced by women ski jumpers for inclusion in the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver.

There is an upcoming meeting of the executive board of the IOC in Denver on March 25 – 27, the ski jumpers are hoping the IOC will reconsider their 2006 decision that left the women unable to compete in the 2010 Winter Olympics.

You can help by:

1. Signing the worldwide petition at www.wsj2010.com

2. Sending/faxing a letter to the IOC President urging the IOC to reconsider its decision and allow women ski jumpers to compete at the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Further information can be found on the IWG's website www.iwg-gti.org.
