Cricket celebrates 1000th CASC registration
Thornton Cleveleys Cricket Club has become the 1000th cricket club to be registered as a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) with HM Revenue & Customs (HRMC). The registration is a major achievement and means that cricket continues to lead the way in terms of CASC registrations, becoming the first sport to pass 1000 registrations.
David Collier, Chief Executive of the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said: "Over £10m of cash benefits have been received by amateur cricket clubs from the CASC scheme since its inception in 2002 to the end of 2008, providing funding that has boosted the game at grass roots level."
