Sports for All

Typhoo Sports for All Project

Typhoo Sports for All Project

A new joint initiative between the Federations of Disability Sports and Typhoo Tea Ltd has been launched. The project will train more than 500 community based sports coaches throughout the United Kingdom.

The sports coaching will provide disabled men, women and children with the skills to encourage disabled people to participate in the sporting activity of which they are a coach.

Sir Geoff Hurst is backing the project as brand ambassador to help raise awareness. He says:

"I feel that this initiative is extremely worthwhile in helping to make a range of sports accessible to disabled people, enabling them to remain active and take part in everyday sport. Exercise is something which many of us take for granted and something which should be readily available to everyone. The Typhoo Sports for All project is working hard to make this possible. I am appealing to anyone in the sport and fitness industry to come on board and help raise the profile of Typhoo Sports for All to secure even more support."

Children from Everton Football in the Community and members of the Ladies and Men’s Deaf Football Squads, the Cerebral Palsy and Blind and Visually Impaired Squads were at the launch to show their support for the initiative to support UK sports coaches.
